The Hirbawi Kufiya (kuffiyeh) is the only kufiya to be authentically made in Palestine. Yasser Hirbawi opened his historic factory in 1961, which has supplied original Palestinian Kufiyas (or kuffiyeh) all over the world for the last 60 years. The Hirbawi factory in Hebron, West Bank Palestine, is the last and only Kufiya manufacturer in Palestine.
The Kufiya is meticulously handmade using a specific cross-stitching technique passed down through generations. These time-honored techniques are treasured by a select few artisans, who have dedicated their lives to preserving the authenticity of the craft.

The kufiya is traditionally woven on two layers, the “base”, and the “pattern” or “flower” ( وردة) in Arabic.
It has captured the hearts of many around the world and worn to represent the rich heritage in Palestine.
Each Kufiya headdress is handmade using a specific cross-stitching technique developed over decades. Only a handful of people still know these time-honoured techniques that are honed over many generations.
